Of course we had to spend a day at Versailles and the Louvre or our trip to Paris wouldn’t be complete. From the Louvre - in addition to the close up of an Egyptian sarcophagus I posted the other day - our favorites were definitely the Mona Lisa (I thought the reflections in the bottom were kind of interesting, though I may remove them later on), Venus de Milo, and our #1 favorite Winged Victory of Samothrace.

Versailles was amazing too. Kim and I kept looking at each other and asking ourselves why anyone would need so much space/stuff. But it was all really cool to see. As we were leaving the clouds were moving inĀ for a pretty heavy, but short-livedĀ rain and I caught a glimpse of the statue of the woman holding the caduceus and grabbed a shot, thinking of my mom (a nurse), and it’s actually one of my favorites with how the clouds and shadows really work for me. The final image at the bottom… I have no idea what it is but thought it looked interesting. I don’t think there was a description nearby and if there was it would’ve been in French. So if anyone knows what this thing is, let me know.

More to come…
