Friend-of-the-Blog Shawn Duffy recently spent some time in Paris on vacation and finished uploading all of his shots. So, for this week’s Friday inspiration, head on over to Shawn’s Paris collection on Flickr.

After a long flight it’s now time to “step into the map” and explore because, “We’re in London, Baby!”
(Sorry for the blatent Friends references…)
Depending on when you’re visiting, Kim and I are either doing last minute prep for our trip to London and Paris or we’re on the plane making our way across the pond.
This is my second trip to Europe but my first to Paris and it’s Kim’s first trip outside the US aside from several trips to Niagara Falls.
I’ve scheduled a number of posts to go up over the next few days while we’re away including another edition of Geographic Composition on Thursday and guest bloggers working on Monday’s P&P Weekly.
There’s WiFi in our Paris hotel and I may get a chance to post some images but I can’t promise anything.
Check out these two examples of Photoshop CS3’s Zoomify automation from our recent trip to the MoMA in New York City:
- Vincent Van Gogh - The Starry Night
- Jackson Pollock Close-Up
I love how you can zoom in and see the individual brush strokes - even though they were both handheld shots.
Zoomify allows you to maintain the full resolution of your image without the risk of someone coming along and easily downloading it for themselves. It works great for panos so you don’t have to worry about your web browser auto-sizing it on lower-res monitors.
To make your own, simply go to File>Export>Zoomify and follow the instructions there.
